Curriculum Overview
Classroom instruction is based on the expectations identified in Florida's Benchmark for Student's Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T) Standards.
Ward-Highlands faculty and staff are proud to deliver a quality education designed to meet the needs of all students and ensure our students become self-sufficient, responsible citizens. By using the resources available at Ward-Highlands, students will be able to grow academically, as demonstrated by data.
Reading
SAVVAS is a comprehensive program (K-5) that teaches reading, writing, listening and speaking while building students' vocabulary and knowledge across essential domains in literature, world and American history and the sciences. Ward-Highlands also utilizes i-Ready online instruction to target specific areas of need.
Math
enVision Math is the core curriculum used in K-5 and the series is aligned with the Florida B.E.S.T Standards for mathematics. Ward-Highlands also utilizes i-Ready Math, IXL Math, Reflex Math and Generation Genius Math to reinforce skills taught in the classroom.
